Privacy
Simple by design.
You can read this website without creating an account. It has no ecommerce checkout or email signup form.
Optional Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics only when you choose “Accept analytics”. It helps us understand which pages, Journal entries and links are useful. The Google Analytics tag does not load before you accept. Rejecting analytics does not prevent you from reading or using the website.
What we measure
With your permission, we measure page visits, time with an article active on screen, progress through an article, which Collection items come into view, and clicks to our channel, partners and product enquiries. Time and scroll depth are signals of engagement, not proof that someone read an article. A click does not tell us that you subscribed, sent an email or bought a product.
Google Analytics uses first-party cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to distinguish browsers and sessions. These contain identifiers: the information is not anonymous. Google also receives browser/device information and usage events. Read Google’s explanation of Analytics data collection.
Your browser choice and cookies
We remember your accept or reject choice in this browser’s local storage for 180 days. Google Analytics cookies are configured to expire after 180 days, without extending that period on each visit. Your browser may remove data sooner. If browser storage is blocked, a choice may apply only to the current page; the settings panel will tell you if it could not save your choice.
Our Google Analytics user-level and event-level retention settings are two months, without resetting user retention when you return. This is separate from the browser choice and cookie lifetime. Aggregated standard reports can remain available for longer.
Change your mind at any time
Open “Cookie settings” in the footer and choose “Reject analytics” to withdraw permission. This turns off optional analytics and clears this site’s Google Analytics cookies. The page normally reloads to stop a loaded Google tag. If your browser blocks saving or removing the previous choice, the panel explains that analytics is off for the current page only; use your browser’s site settings to clear the saved choice before a later visit. Withdrawing permission does not delete information already sent to Google. Your choice applies to this browser; use the settings again on another browser or device. Without JavaScript, optional Google Analytics does not load and this notice remains available.
Keep the information limited
Our analytics events use recognised page, article, product and partner identifiers. We remove URL query strings and fragments from the page information we send. For referring pages, we retain only recognised YachtNot page paths or approved search, social and partner website origins; other referring addresses are left out. We do not send email addresses, message or form contents, private family details, or the text of email links to Google Analytics. We do not enable advertising personalisation, Google Signals or Google Ads tracking through this setup.
For a privacy question or request about information you have shared with YachtNot, email media@yachtnot.yachts. Do not include sensitive account or payment information in your message.
Other browser data
The current website does not store a yacht vote or collect a family brief. An older version offered a choice saved only in your browser; it was not sent to YachtNot. You can remove that older local data through your browser’s site settings.
External websites and platforms
Links to YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and disclosed partner websites take you to services operated by those organisations. Their own privacy policies and account settings apply once you leave this website.
Private publishing studio
YachtNot operates a private, owner-only publishing studio to prepare, approve and publish authorised YachtNot content. Connected-platform authorisation tokens are protected at rest and are used only for the publishing actions the owner approves.
Connected-platform data deletion
To disconnect a platform account and request deletion of its stored authorisation tokens and connection records, email media@yachtnot.yachts with the subject “Connected-platform data deletion”. YachtNot will verify that the requester controls the connected account before deleting or disconnecting it. You can also revoke YachtNot Studio directly from the security or connected-app settings of Facebook, Instagram or Google.
Hosting logs and GoDaddy monitoring
The hosting provider may keep technical logs such as IP address, browser type, requested page and error status. GoDaddy also adds its own performance-monitoring script to the live website. That host-provided monitoring is separate from optional Google Analytics and is not switched off by our analytics choice controls. Rejecting optional analytics does not block every third-party service or hosting log. Emailing YachtNot shares the information you choose to include in your message.
Future features
If newsletter signup, contact forms or ecommerce are added, this notice must be updated before those features go live. There is no newsletter subscription or YachtNot checkout on this website today.
